Source : Weak signal, poor sound quality

This is the first Bluetooth headset I have used. I have it paired to both a Motorola RAZR phone and a Blackberry 8300, though I use it almost exclusively with the Blackberry. I don't know if it's an issue with the bluetooth signal from the Blackberry, but the sound quality is rather poor (i.e., static) when the headset gets more than a foot or so away from the handset. Even over such a short distance between pocket-and-ear (when standing) I get poor reception. I'm pretty disappointed.Source : Great! Especially for the price

I just moved up to this headset for a very basic Jabra model. By paying only a little more, this has so much more going for it:
The in ear piece is comfortable and, along with the over ear piece, secures the headset easily
I love the battery level indicator light
The sound quality is pretty goodSource : Ok compared to my old Sony HBH-300

Pros: setup is quick and easy, volume is loud enough
Cons: Range is not as good as my old headset (when walking around the house) and while the earpiece fits fine it really goes into your ear so I know its going to get gross never mind sharing it with someone (i.e. when making skype calls)

Thankfully, the packaging isn't a blister pack... no scissors required. Pulling the headset out requires being gentle but it is easy. I charged the headset for an hour and then I paired it up with my laptop (built in bluetooth) which took about 30 seconds to do, changed my skype audio in/out settings to bluetooth and was talking with my family with no problems. However, the range feels shorted compared to my old Sony HBH-300 i.e. when I go into another room the signal gets more static with this headset vs. my old one.

Then I paired the headset with my razr V3t in about 10 seconds and made a call. Since the phone was in my pocket I didn't have any distance problems. Audio was fine, loudness was fine, comfort was fine.Source : returning for another one

Bought at a local store and I'm glad because I have to return it.

CONS
-static while phone was in my pocket (w810i)
-static/background noise on the street. My girlfriend could barely hear me and said I sounded distant
-wind noise at low wind

PROS
-awesome comfortable
-LOUD!

I'm pretty sure I got a defect so I'm hoping for a good one with the return. If it's good then I'll write a better review...hopefully 5 stars.Source : NOT an upgrade for the 510

I bought a Plantronics 510 from Amazon about a year ago after reading the reviews. Great headset BUT I had it exchanged 3 TIMES for the same problem. The center pin on the charging jack would "disappear" inside the unit after 3 months of daily charging. I know this is a 520 review page; the last time I called Plantronics to exchange my headset, they sent me a 520 to try. The 520 is a nice looking headset, but for me that's as far as it goes. Comfort: Very poor as compared to the 510. ONE earpiece permanently attached to the headset, no options and for me, the fit was fair to poor. All the other issues kinda pale when the earpiece doesn't fit well. I read of others that say the fit is perfect; well we all have different ears. That's why the 510 has different earpieces. My advice for Plantronics: you have two options. Fix the charging jack problem on the 510 (maybe try a mini USB charging jack) OR offer different earpieces on the 520. For now, I'd pass on this one. Gonna try the BlueAnt Z9 and see how I like that.
