Source : CaseLogic Small External H.D. Case

Good quality. Works well. It is a little large for the new small external hard drives (I used it for Iomega Silver Series 160 GB) if you want a snug fit but I don't find this a problem. Has compartment to store the wires which is also nice. As someone else said, you could use the storage compartment to store a second H.D. if you wanted to.Source : Great size - watch out for the mesh

I bought this case with my Western Digital 250GB external portable hard drive. As others have mentioned, it is a little big for this drive. But if you don't stretch out the elastic band, the hard drive pretty much stays in place. You can also tuck in some flash drives or extra cables to take up the space if you want. The case is great in terms of protecting the drive. I put it in my backpack/laptop bag when I'm on the go and I don't worry about it.

My only complaint is the mesh compartment for the USB cable. Since the ends of the cable are metal and the compartment is mesh, this metal can scratch the WD drive. If you are like me, you want your drive to look nice and new as long as it can.. .if you don't care, it's not going to damage the inside.

I guess some ways to protect your drive from scratching is to get an extra eyeglass/sunglass cloth and lay it over the drive? Something like that.. iPod cables come with little plastic covers for the USB end, so I used my extra one for that and also covered the drive. So overall, it's an aesthetic concern but I'm a gadget person and I like to have them staying/looking new as long as possible. Source : Works great for the Garmin Nuvi 750 (and others I'm sure)

I bought one of these for my Garmin Nuvi 750 ... works PERFECT! Keeps the Nuvi protected (screen facing out, away from the accessories) and holds the car charger cable and the Nuvi cradle in the other half of the case. (You do need to sort of position the Nuvi toward the top or bottom and then the charger and the "lip" of the cradle to the opposite side to "nest" it all, but it works fine.) All you need is to bring whichever mount you use (I travel with the "beanbag" dash mount). Packs easily in a briefcase or suitcase. A friend of mine has the 650, and although it and its components are bulkier than the 750, it still works (just not as "perfect" as the 750).Source : Great protective case

I had my seagate 160gb external hard drive for awhile and hesitated to purchase a case. Since I've been traveling a lot with it and felt that it's more susceptible to damage if I were to just leave it in my bag. Lint, dirt, and other debris might get lodged into the slots. Also I was afraid of bumping into something and damaging the drive since it holds so much valuable info. I've been using the case for about a month now and I have no complaints. The elastic strap is very sturdy and holds in drive in place. The additional mesh pouch is just the perfect size to hold the power cord. It's a little bit tight when I want to zip the pouch closed, but I prefer having it be a little tight than too loose where the drive and cord may go bumping around. So all in all, I'm very satisfied with this case. I recommend it to anyone that uses one of these types of portable hard drives.Source : good case/protection for portable hard drives

I've had 2 of these cases and they are good, sturdy cases for portable hard drives except that they are just too big. I haven't found anything similar in a smaller size so for now I'm still a fan. I have 2 hard drives that would actually fit in one case but since I carry them separately in my bags (1 is a temp back up until I send to my server) I end up with 2 of these cases. I would be ecstatic if they made these about 1 inch smaller all around and about a 1/2 inch thinner. But that being said, this does provide very good protection and there's a small pocket for the cable (even though I keep mine attached by a rubber band). the zipper is very good and opens/closes with ease. Most hard drives only come with a small thin pouch or a neoprene-style one and that is NOT protection. This one isn't the best either but at least it offers more than most.
This would also be good for small cameras and other electronics.
